UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS FOR MATCH DAYS
gJFC Playing Uniform & Equipment Guidelines
To ensure consistency, safety, and a strong club identity, Gosnells Junior Football Club has the following uniform and equipment requirements for players.
GJFC Playing Jumper (Jersey)
The club provides a set of playing jerseys for each team for the season. At the beginning of the season, Team Managers will allocate an appropriately sized jersey to each player, which will determine the player’s jersey number.
Jerseys are issued to players prior to each match and must be returned to the Team Manager at the conclusion of the game before leaving the ground.
GJFC Playing Shorts
Players in Year 3 and above are required to purchase their own pair of Gosnells JFC playing shorts for individual use.
Playing shorts can be purchased:
Online via the club merchandise store, or
In person on selected training nights
GJFC Playing Socks
Players in Year 3 and above are required to purchase their own pair of Gosnells JFC playing socks for individual use.
Socks are available:
Online via the club merchandise store, or
In person on selected training nights
GJFC Club Shirt (Youth Players)
Players in Years 7 to 12 are required to wear the current Gosnells JFC club shirt when travelling to and from matches.
Black pants must also be worn. These may be purchased from department or sporting stores. Sports branding or logos should be minimal.
Football Boots
Players in Year 3 and above are strongly encouraged to wear football boots for both training sessions and matches.
Boots must not have sharp edges or exposed metal. Umpires will conduct a boot inspection prior to the start of each match.
Mouthguards
Gosnells JFC strongly recommends that all players from Year 3 and above wear a mouthguard during both training and matches. Mouthguards are proven to reduce the risk of dental and facial injuries.
Compression Clothing
Modified Football (Years 3 to 6)
Players may wear compression undergarments (e.g. Skins, Under Armour) of any style, colour, or length.
Players must not wear track pants, jumpers, jackets, or hooded garments under their playing uniform during matches.
Youth Football (Years 7 to 12)
Players may wear short-length compression garments without a permit, provided they:
Match the Gosnells JFC playing shorts, or
Are a neutral colour (black, white, or beige)
Non-compression clothing such as t-shirts, jumpers, jackets, or hooded garments are not permitted under the playing uniform during matches.
Jewellery
For safety reasons, no jewellery may be worn during matches. All piercings must be removed and are not permitted to be taped.
Medical alert bracelets may be worn, provided they are fully taped and clearly marked “MEDIC”.
Prescription Glasses
Players who wear prescription glasses or goggles during training or matches must ensure they:
Have plastic frames and lenses, and
Are secured with an appropriate band
A permit is not required if these conditions are met. Sunglasses of any type are not permitted.
Protective Gear
Players may wear approved protective headgear made from soft, lightweight padded material. The headgear must be safe for both the wearer and other players. No permit is required. Hats are not permitted.
Protective breast equipment (e.g. Zena Z1 or Boob Armour) may also be worn without a permit.
